CHARACTERISTICS OF THAI CUISINE
TomYum is a spicy, national Thai soup prepared on the base of bouilion, usually with shrimps (tom yum kung), with salmon or halibut (tom yam pla), with seafood (tom yum kai). In addition, it includes mushrooms, lemon grass, chili, galangal and kaffir lime leaves.
TomKha is a soup made of coconut milk and brew with a touch of lime and fish sauce. It is boiled with fresh Thai herbs such as lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves and galingal. May be served with shrimps (tom kha kung) or chicken (tom kha kai).
Shrimp balls soup is known for spicy-bitter flavor, and is prepared with lime and peanuts, mung bean sprouts, spring onions and with addition of soya or rice noodle. Shrimp balls are made of fresh-grounded shrimps.
